Changes in blood pressure during epidural anesthesia |
The nurse and the anesthesiologist will monitor your blood pressure all through epidural anesthesia. Occasionally, the blood pressure can decrease during epidural anesthesia. The anesthesiologist will correct the decreases expeditiously with I.V. medications to normalize the blood pressure. These transient decreases in blood pressure should pose no problem for the baby as baby is under constant surveillance via fetal heart rate monitor.
